18m Multicat Steel Work Barge

Dangerfield is a versatile and robust steel multicat, purpose-built for inshore marine construction and support. At 18 metres, this self-propelled catamaran work barge is in 2B and 2C AMSA survey and has been consistently maintained and upgraded by the current owner.

Powered by twin Cummins 6BT 270kW inboards with just 2,100 hours each, Dangerfield cruises comfortably at 6 knots and tops out at 8 knots, driven by 3-blade guarded props. With 6,500L of diesel and 1,800L of fresh water onboard, she's well-equipped to support a crew of four for extended operations without resupply.

Built in 1987, with a recent majorr refit in 2022 by the current owner, Dangerfield's capabilities include anchor handling, deck cargo transport, and shallow water construction support. She features an 8-tonne bollard pull, 40-tonne deck cargo capacity, and a shallow 1.0m draft, making her ideal for coastal and inshore work. The 15-tonne A-frame and winch system add serious lifting power, complemented by a 7-tonne roller and UNIC-URV503 deck crane positioned amidship for flexible handling.

Onboard systems include a Raymarine GPS plotter, autopilot, AIS, HF/VHF radios, and a Perkins Mariner 70kVA genset to keep everything running smoothly. Crew facilities include a galley/mess, 4 berths, toilet, and shower facilitating extended working shifts if needed.

At 17.95m long and 7.8m wide, Dangerfield is compact enough for tight access but built tough for demanding tasks. Whether you're in marine construction, dredging, or offshore logistics, this multicat is ready to deliver.

Currently located in Victoria, Dangerfield is available for immediate sale. It is available for sale individually or can be packaged with a 15m steel tug, 11.2m 2C twin-screw work boat, 24m dumb-barge, 15m self-propelled work barge and a 7.5m 2D work punt and trailer.
